B) St. James-Assiniboia
School Division League Rules
1) Footwear:
The Deer Lodge Curling Club has requested that all curlers, if not
wearing curling
shoes, at least change from street shoes before going on the ice.
Please leave your street
shoes in the cloakroom, not under the chairs.
2) Teams: No team is allowed
to curl with all members of the same sex as this is a mixed curling
league. This includes spares.
3) Spares: As a team member,
you are counted upon to be present for each game. If you must
miss a game, advise the skip as soon as possible to arrange for a
spare. If you know of a
spare who is available, please inform the skip. Skips are responsible
for contacting spares.
A list has been generated and distributed.
4) Teams are allowed a minimum of 2 original team members and a minimum
of 3 players total in order for a game to count for points. Spares MUST
play lead or second only (lead if one spare, lead and second if two
spares). Original team members MUST move up to play second, third
and/or skip. (In other words, no spare may play in a position above
that of any original team member.) These rules must be adhered to in
order to maintain the integrity of the point system. Teams not
respecting these rules will not gain points obtained during those games
where infractions of these rules occurred.
5) Rounds: All games are 8
ends as allowed by time. The league consists of three rounds:
1. First round 11 games
Round robin play (play each team once).
2. Second round 3 games Teams are divided
into three groups by lot. Points accumulated will be
added to points from first round to determine team placing for the
third round.
3. Third round 6 games
Double round robin to determine group winners.
6) Refunds: Curlers must
notify the treasurer in writing to be entitled to a refund- Any curler
who cannot complete the
season will be refunded on a pro-rated basis, plus banquet fee, if
desired. New curlers will be charged similarly.
7) Club rules: If you bring
young children to the Club, please make sure they are under supervision
and well behaved.
8) For sale: Curling
accessories and supplies will be available for sale at the club.
C) DLCC House Rules
- LENGTH OF DRAWS
The bell will ring 1 hour and 40 minutes after the
above 4:45 p.m. starting time. Play the end in progress and one
more.
No extra ends are to be played. For bell purposes, an end shall be
considered complete and the next end in play when the last delivered
rock of an end has crossed the nearest sweeping line and cannot be
replayed. For example if the bell rings when the last delivered rock of
end #6 is running between the hog lines then end #7 has already started
for bell purposes and end #8 will be considered as the "next end".
