> Mens Leagues Rule Change   (posted Jan 21, 2009)

We have had an undocumented practice that has emerged over time,  that of granting wins to Mens League teams that have to miss a regularly scheduled league game due to a scheduling conflict with their play in the MCA zones.  We have reconsidered this practice and have come up with a documented ZONE PLAYDOWN BYLAW which will attempt to be fair to all teams in the Mens leagues.
The new
ZONE PLAYDOWN BYLAW  states that : if a team defaults a game due to play in MCA zones then if they meet requirements they are granted a half win (.5W)  and the equivalent half points (rounded up to next integer).
For example if default involves a Group A team in round 3 this would be 6 points.
The half win (.5W) will be included in the calculation of the total number of wins for the year.  Total Wins is used as the tiebreaker between  teams if tied for wildcard spots for entry in the Club Championship competition.
Game in question may be rescheduled for another date before the end of the round to attempt for full win and full points if teams can agree on a date.
To meet requirements the team in the zones must include at least 3 of their regular DLCC roster and be registered as from Deer Lodge in the zones.
This bylaw includes all MCA zones age groupings (example:  juniors, seniors).
This bylaw has been added to the  Common League Rules  for future reference.

> Mens Leagues Standings and Schedules   (posted Nov 14, 2008)

We have reached the end of Round 1 in the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday  Mens Leagues and have 1 draw left to be played in the  Monday league.
The standings after Round 1 and the schedule for the second round have been compiled for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night leagues.  Monday night league web updates will  be done soon after their Nov 17 draw.
To see how your teams did and when you will be curling next please go to your league's  "Standings" and "Schedule" web pages.
-On Tuesday nights the Parker team went undefeated with 5 wins giving them 40 points.  They  move from the "C" group all the way to the top of "B" for the second round.  Tanasichuk and Doyle both won 4 games in "B" to tie at 39 points going into the next round. Doug Mackie's team along with the Stevens foursome each won 3 games in "C" and earned promotion.  They  round out the top group for round 2.   Bender and Peterson drop to "C" group.  The Matt Keough team moves into "C" after a very brief stop in "B".
-On Wednesday night there was a lot of movement between groups as usual. We started with an uneven number of teams and a 10 / 11 split of teams between the A/B and C/D draws.  Now that we an even number of teams we will revert to a 12 / 10 split for the second round.
Mahon  with 4 wins and 44 points takes the top spot in "A" group for the second round. Team Exell with 5  wins and 40 points in group "C" earns the move all up to "A".    Also moving to "A" are the Forrest team from "B" with their 39 points.  Desjarlais, Gordon and Grassie will round out "A" for the 2nd round after each having 38 points from 3 wins.
Based on points,  Malanchuck drops out of "A" to "B" group,  Gousseau moves to "B" from "C",
Thompson moves from "D" up to "B".   Brown sinks from "B" to "D" after 5 losses.  Johnson drops from "B" to "C" .  Dillon, Morris and Strath all tied at 23 points at the end of round 1 but Dillon earns the promotion up to the last spot in "B" based on our tie breaker rules.
-On Thursday night the competition was fairly even during the first round except for 2 teams. The Kolodka team won all 5 of his games in "C" and the 40 points moves them to the lead position of "B" for the 2nd round.  The Matt Keough rink could only muster 1 win in the 1st round so find themselves at the bottom of "C" to start round 2.
-Preliminary results for Monday sees the Marshall and Fuller teams as being the only ones undefeated so far on the night.  There is potential for half the teams to shuffle between groups after the last draw of round 1.
